The City of White Rock I Development Planning

Planning coordinates the approval process for development proposals, and coordinates public consultation on planning related matters. Planning provides information services to the public such as demographics, zoning, and other policies and regulations affecting properties throughout the City.

In addition to Long Range Planning matters, Planning handles on-going development activities related to land development proposals within the city. Planning processes and analyzes the following development proposals:

• Zoning Bylaw Amendment
• Development Permit
• Development Variance Permit
• Subdivision
• Land Use Contract Amendment
• Plan Amendment
• Amendment to an existing Development Permit
• Temporary Commercial/Industrial Use Permit

Planning, in conjunction with the Parks Department, is responsible for issuing tree cutting permits as per Bylaw No.1831,Tree Management By-law. In order to determine whether you need a tree cutting permit, please refer to the Tree Management Bylaw. This Bylaw only applies to certain lands within the City and will help you to determine whether your property is affected.
